Madalyn Weinert, Basketball, Brock
In tough against a pair of nationally-ranked opponents to close out the semester, the Brock women's basketball team's weekend split was led by a pair of dominant performances from Madalyn Weinert.
Weinert, a second-year student-athlete, delivered a pair of potent double-doubles for the St. Catharines squad, with the first coming in a win over the No. 9 Carleton Ravens. In the Friday night matchup, the hometown standout led all players with a game-high 22 points, while crashing the glass for 14 rebounds. Her offensive output was highlighted by an efficient performance at the charity stripe, as Weinert knocked down nine of her 10 free throw attempts, including a pair of clutch makes down the stretch. Her all-around performance was also boosted with six assists, four blocks, and a steal in the Badgers 73-65 win.
