OUA "pausing" vaccination requirement
Burlington, Ont. - The Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Board of Directors approved the recommendation to 'pause' the OUA Vaccination Policy.
Effective August 3rd, 2022, the OUA will pause the requirement for participants (i.e., student-athletes, coaches, support staff, athletic therapists, officials) to be fully vaccinated to participate in OUA programming and events. Such OUA programming and events include exhibition games, league games, regional qualifiers, and championships.
The OUA will continue to review this policy and regional public health guidelines throughout the year and encourage OUA participants to follow regional public health guidelines on vaccinations. Additionally, OUA participants will be expected to follow host guidelines as it pertains to masking protocols.
