Everyone wants to put their best foot forward when the regular season starts, but for Carleton's Parker Aucoin, he did that and then some following an offensive explosion in the Ravens first two tilts on the ice.
Aucoin's season debut helped blow the doors off the Carleton Ice House on Friday night, as he anchored a six-goal outing from the Ravens in their win over Ontario Tech. Half of the team's goals came via the third-year business major, including the game (and season) opening tally for Carleton.
If that Game 1 hat trick wasn't enough, Aucoin would find a way to out-do himself in the encore. In what ended as another lop-sided win for Carleton, this time finishing at 8-3 against Nipissing, the Sturgeon County, Alta. native once again netted half of his team's goals on the night. His first of the night, and fourth of the season, came halfway through the opening frame, before lighting the lamp another three times in the period to cap off his four-goal game. Aucoin would also add an assist in the team's Saturday night triumph.
With his seven goals and eight points in tow, the forward has claimed an early lead in the OUA scoring race, with those marks also giving him a new career-high in the former (a feat he accomplished after just four periods of play this season) and tying his best result in the latter.

The Western Mustangs proved to be a threat on the links throughout the lead up to the 2022 OUA Golf Championships, and the finale was no exception, with the silver-medal winning group being led by Rylie Grogan.
Grogan, a native of London, Ont., held a one-stroke lead through the first round of the tournament, thanks to an opening round 73, checking in at one-over for the day. With a talented group of golfers on her heels following those first 18 holes, the fourth-year golfer was up to the task of fending off her fearsome competition on the pressure-filled final round stage. Her second-round score of 80, helped secure the two-stroke win with a plus-nine overall, earning her the Judy McCrae Trophy as the women's individua champion.
Grogan's veteran leadership has been key to the Mustangs' prowess on the course throughout the fall and over the past couple seasons, and her triumph on the conference's championship stage marks a masterful end to her varsity career.
Nicolas Dessureault, Golf, McMaster

McMaster's Nicolas Dessureault produced a prolific round of golf when he needed it most, and as a result, powered his way to the top of the leaderboard at the 2022 OUA Golf Championships this past weekend in Ottawa.
The Oakville, Ont. native studying commerce had an outstanding performance over the two-round banner season finale, but he truly shone in the second day of play. Entering the start of Round 2 in a tie for 24th place after an opening round +6 (78), Dessureault was unstoppable on Sunday as he continued to climb the leaderboard throughout his final 18 holes. He recorded nine birdies to the end the final round with a nine-under (63), just one shot shy of the competitive course record. The third-year standout moved up 23 spots in the standings as a result, finishing out the tournament with a three-under overall, the only player to wrap up below par.
The Len Shore Trophy winner as the top individual on the men's side also anchored the McMaster men's team as a whole, leading the Hamilton squad to their first OUA title since 2004.
