Like she has done all season, Cassandra Provost shone for Ottawa on the pitch, and with perhaps her best weekend of the season in tow, has now set a new record for the Gee-Gees women's soccer program.
The accounting major from Acton Vale, Que. netted an astounding seven tallies over the course of Ottawa's two games this weekend. The dynamic stretch started with a brace against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks in the Gee-Gees' 6-0 win, with her goals coming a little over three minutes apart, but it was just the beginning for the sensational second-year striker.
For an encore performance on Sunday, Provost started things off with the game's first four goals, all coming in the first 32 minutes. She would cap off the No. 2 team's seven-goal output against Laurentian with her fifth goal of the game, and 18th of the season, and both marks have her re-writing the program's record books. Provost's five goals in a single game are the most ever for a Gee-Gees player, while her 18th goal surpassed Mikayla Morton's mark of 17 (2019) to set a new all-time single-season record for the Garnet and Grey, doing so through just nine appearances.
Provost's record-setting performance at the team level also extends to dominance at the provincial and national levels as well, as her 18 goals lead the OUA by 10 and the U SPORTS field by five.
Sam Brown, Baseball, Guelph

The Gryphons baseball team continued their strong play this fall with a dominant showing at their OUA Baseball West Regional Qualifier, stringing together a trio of lopsided wins on the back of an other-worldly offensive display from Sam Brown.
The second-year sport and event management student put together a sensational weekend to lead his team to an undefeated mark and a spot at the conference's upcoming baseball finale. The Toronto, Ont. native and Gryphons third baseman finished the weekend going a sparkling 9-for-14 at the plate, including two home runs, two triples, one double, and 14 RBI in the team's three games. Brown's ability to drive in runs over the course of the weekend even came close to matching his production therein throughout the team's exhibition slate, during which he knocked in 20 across 16 games.
If the stat line itself wasn't enough, the hits themselves were timely, especially the round-trippers, as both of his home runs were of the walk-off variety, including the game-ending grand slam that clinched Guelph's spot in the OUA Championship.
Winnie Choi, Tennis, Toronto

While Toronto's women's tennis team was unable to extend their OUA championship streak over the weekend, the team's No. 1 singles player, Winnie Choi, did everything she could to help the Blues come away with a silver medal finish.
After securing rookie of the year honours in her first go-around a year ago, the native of Toronto, Ont. came out in fine form for her second banner season outing. In her first action of the weekend, Choi secured a pair of wins - one in singles and one in doubles - against York in the semifinals, without dropping a single game. With Toronto then advancing to a gold medal rematch with Western, the second-year arts and science student managed another two wins for her Varsity Blues, including a three-set thriller (5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (8)) against Western's top player, Justine Bryson.
Following her four wins at the 2022 Tennis Championships, Choi was awarded the OUA's player of the year award along with an all-star nod.
