
112th edition of the Yates Cup to be aired live on CHCH on November 9
Burlington, Ont. – Ontario University Athletics (OUA) and Channel Zero are excited to announce that the 112th Yates Cup, presented by Milk2Go Sport, will air live on CHCH on Saturday, November 9th at 1:00 p.m.
“We are excited to be back on CHCH,” said Gord Grace, OUA CEO. “CHCH and Channel Zero have been tremendous supporters of university sport in the province and we are proud to have the 112th Yates Cup on CHCH.”
Gemini award-winner Mark Lee will be back in the booth calling the game. Mark is a veteran Canadian sportscaster with CBC Sports and Rogers Sportsnet and is also a former quarterback for the Carleton Ravens (1975-78). While with CBC Sports, Mark was a host and play-by-play announcer on the CFL on CBC for 16 years from 1992-2007, calling three consecutive Grey Cups from 2005-2007. Mark is well known for his work as an athletics commentator and has reported on a variety of sports in his career.
Former McMaster Marauders (2010-2014) quarterback Marshall Ferguson will be joining Mark Lee in the booth to provide colour commentary. Marshall led the Marauders to a Vanier Cup appearance after winning the 107th Yates Cup and Mitchell Bowl back in 2014. Marshall has been with TSN 1150 Hamilton since 2015 and is currently the play-by-play voice for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Donnovan Bennett will be the host of the 112th Yates Cup television broadcast. Donnovan, a former running back of the Western Mustangs (2003-2006), is currently a writer, producer, and host with Sportsnet. He is also co-host of the CFL’s official podcast ‘The Waggle’.
