ST. CATHARINES, ON - The No. 6 Brock University men's basketball team knocked off the No. 4 and previously undefeated Ryerson Rams by the score of 74-65 in front of a new basketball attendance record of 3,018 at the Meridian Centre Friday night.

The Badgers depth and experience was key in the victory as they outscored Ryerson's bench 35-4.
Brock jumped out to an early 10-0 lead, with Ryerson answering back and leading 37-34 at the half.
Brock would regain the lead, 52-50, after three quarters and down the wire got clutch shots from Ryan Bennett (Toronto, ON) and Johneil Simpson (Toronto, ON) to secure the win. Ryerson missed their final seven shots of the game and finished with their lowest point total of the regular season, dropping to 13-1 in the OUA.
For the Badgers, Dani Elgadi (Waterloo, ON) had a huge game finishing with 17 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, three steals and four blocks for the double-double. Simpson also had 17 points and three rebounds shooting 50% (7-of-14) from the field. Bennett had a strong game contributing 11 points and five rebounds including shooting 60% (3-of-5) from beyond the arc.
Leading the Rams was Ammanuel Diressa with 15 points and nine rebounds. Ryerson had three other players in double digits including Myles Charvis (14), Adika Peter-McNeilly (13) and Juwon Grannum (12)
For the game, Brock shot 46.0% (29-for-63) from the field, 43.5% (10-for-23) from three-point land and 60.0% (6-for-10) from the free throw line. Ryerson shot 30.4% (21-for-69) from the floor, 18.9% (7-for-37) from beyond the arc and 94.1% (16-for-17) from the charity stripe.
The Badgers play next on the road against the Guelph Gryphons tomorrow at 8pm.
