Laval (idle), which became the third school in six polls this season to lead the nation, claimed its first pole position since Nov. 15, 2005, after McMaster and Regina both went 1-1 in the final weekend of the fall semester. The Marauders, ranked No.1 the last two weeks, lost 77-51 to No.2 Carleton, while the Cougars, who were previously ranked second, fell 59-52 to unranked Saskatchewan.
In other U Sports rankings, Carleton (men’s basketball), UNB (men’s hockey), UBC (women’s hockey & men’s and women’s swimming), Trinity Western (men’s volleyball), Alberta (women’s volleyball), and Brock (men’s and women’s wrestling), hold on to their pole positions heading into the holiday break.
