
Agada, Morrison named Investors Group OUA Athletes of the Week

MALE: Caleb Agada (Burlington, Ont.) – 5th yr – Ottawa Gee-Gees– Basketball
After leading his team to a pair of wins over Top 10 ranked opponents, uOttawa Gee-Gees guard Caleb Agada (Burlington, Ont.) has been named the Investors Group OUA Male Athlete of the Week.
Against the No. 7 ranked Marauders, Agada, a fifth-year economics student-athlete had 17 points (7-of-11 shooting) to go along with six rebounds, four assists and a steal as uOttawa defeated McMaster 79-59.
Agada wasn’t done there as on Saturday night against the No. 5 ranked Brock Badgers, the 6’4” guard had a career high 28 points, six rebounds, five assists, five steals and a block in 36 minutes of action.
Following the December break, Agada and the Gee-Gees will return to action on Friday, January 6 as they travel to Waterloo, Ont. to take on the Warriors.
FEMALE: Nicole Morrison (Hamilton, Ont.) – 4th yr. – Laurier Golden Hawks – Basketball
Golden Hawks guard Nicole Morrison (Hamilton, Ont.) has been named the Investors Group OUA Female Athlete of the Week after she led Laurier to a pair of home victories this past weekend.
On Friday night against the visiting Voyageurs, Morrison, a fourth-year communications major had 19 points (4-of-8 from 3 point range), seven assists, five rebounds, and a steal in 29 minutes of action in 83-57 win over Laurentian.
The Hamilton, Ont. native followed that up on Saturday night with 18 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals in 27 minutes as the Golden Hawks cruised to a 94-62 win against the Nipissing Lakers.
Morrison and the Golden Hawks enter the December break with a 7-2 record and are tied with the No. 5 ranked Windsor Lancers for top spot in the OUA West Division. Laurier will welcome the No. 4 ranked Carleton Ravens to town when play resumes on Friday, January 6.
