
Elgersma becomes first OUA quarterback invited to the Reese's Senior Bowl
Burlington, Ont. - Taylor Elgersma continues to add to his impressive accolades, as the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawk pivot becomes the first OUA quarterback to attend the prestigious Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Elgersma will attend the all-star game played at the University of South Alabama on February 1, 2025.
He has already attended two U.S.-based all-star events in the College Gridiron Showcase and the Tropical Stardom Scrimmage, gaining attention from many NFL teams. He will be the first player from a Canadian university to take part in the event since 2017 when Jordan Herdman-Reed, a linebacker from Simon Fraser, attended.
The London, Ont. product had an outstanding season with the Golden Hawks, helping them capture their first Yates Cup since 2016 and play for the Vanier Cup.
Elgersma was honoured for his efforts taking home his second consecutive Larry Haylor Award as the OUA MVP and was named the Hec Crighton Trophy recipient as the Most Outstanding Player in U SPORTS football.
