Rams offence rolls on in win over Blues

In the 100th meeting between the two squads, the Rams quickly overcame a 1-0 deficit and added to their league-leading offensive numbers with five more goals.
Toronto opened the scoring at 6:26 of the first period when Blues forward Matt Campagna knocked in a knuckling puck over the shoulder of Rams netminder Taylor Dupuis.
Just 14 seconds later, Ryerson defenceman Alex Basso ripped a wrist shot over the right shoulder of Toronto goaltender Andrew Hunt to knot things up at 1-1. That was how the score line would stand heading into the first intermission after a chippy opening 20 minutes.
In the second it was Rams forward Vince Figliomeni who had the lone goal in the frame which stood up to be the game-winner. Figliomeni pounced on a carom off the end boards at 15:29 to give the Rams a 2-1 advantage heading into the final frame.
Ryerson quickly got an insurance goal just 2:09 into the third period when Aaron Armstrong netted his eighth goal of the season. Matt Mistele continued his hot play of late, scoring his third of the season to extend the lead to three goals before Armstrong wrapped up the scoring with his second of the afternoon.
Taylor Dupuis was strong in net for the Rams, stopping 26 of 27 shots he faced to record his fourth win of the season. Dupuis raised his save percentage 18 points with his performance, leaving him with a 0.925 save percentage on the season.
The Rams improve to 11-2-1 on the season and continue to lead the OUA West division while Toronto drops to 1-11-2 and remain in last place.
Ryerson now has a bit of a break before their next game on Friday, December 2 when they take on the OUA East leading McGill Redmen at 7:00 in Montreal.
NOTES: Captain Michael Fine picked up an assist on Mistele's third period goal to pull him into a tie for second on the Rams all-time scoring list with 114 points...The six game win streak is the longest officially recorded since the 1962-63 season when the Rams won nine games in a row.
