Women in Sport Committee
The quality of opportunities for women participating in the OUA has been identified as a major priority with gender equality being an important area of focus for the OUA. The Women in Sport (WIS) Advisory Committee is advisory to the OUA CEO and will develop a multi-year action plan building off the WIS Strategic Plan approved in May 2020 by the OUA Board. The action plan will address female athlete, coach, administrator participation and other areas affecting the female participant experience.
To develop a multi-year action plan for Women in Sport activities within the three key pillars of the corresponding Strategic Plan:
- Develop and enhance opportunities for female OUA participants
- Increase profile and visibility of females in OUA
- Maintain effective advocacy, governance, policy, and practices of females in sport throughout OUA and our sporting communities
