Windsor dominates visiting Gryphons

All twelve Lancers got their name on the score sheet both offensively and defensively as Coach Vallee evenly spread out the game plan.
For the second time in three games Carly Steer came off the bench to lead all scorers. The third year Windsor native finished the game with 18 points going 5-for-11 from the field and 4-for-10 from the three point line. She also contributed two steals in the win.
Caitlyn Longmuir finished the game with a season high 16 points, while rookie Kayah Clarke continued her standout performance putting up 11 points.
Windsor held the lead right off the opening tip and doubled up on the visiting Gryphons in every quarter, and at one point built a 35 point lead midway through the third quarter.

Marauders maul Badgers
The McMaster women's basketball team ran its win streak to eight, with an 86-51 thrashing of the Brock Badgers in Hamilton on Wednesday night.
It was a short-handed group of Badgers that took the floor of the Burridge Gym, as Brock had just eight players in uniform. McMaster was without Head Coach Theresa Burns, who missed the game on a personal matter, leaving assistant Ann Marie Thuss to handle the bench.
Despite the short bench, Brock was a spirited group and did not back down versus the 2nd-ranked team in the nation. While McMaster won both opening quarters by scores of 22-17 and 18-14, the 40-31 halftime advantage seemed like it should have been more. Rachael Holmes was sensational for Mac in the first 20 minutes with 15 points, including going 3 for 3 from 3-point range. Linnaea Harper was almost as hot, making 3 of 4 from beyond the arc and scoring 13 in the half.
McMaster started to assume control in the third quarter, as Thuss was able to keep fresh legs on the floor and fatigue started to become a factor for Brock. After 30 minutes the Mac lead was 57-40.
The final quarter was all maroon as McMaster kept building its advantage. All 12 McMaster players got into the game, and all but one made the scoresheet, as the Marauders won the final stanza 29-11.
Harper added another 13 second-half points to finish with a career-high 26 to pace the Mac attack. Holmes was limited by fouls in the second-half and finished with 15, while Clare Kenney with 14 and Danielle Boiago with 12 also hit for double-figures. Brock got a strong effort from Kira Cornelisson, who led the Badgers with 17.
McMaster will next face the Guelph Gryphons on Wednesday, November 23 in the Burridge Gym, with tip-off set for 6 p.m.
