Green, Lidster, Miller, Rizakos named OUA athletes of the week
Burlington, Ont. – Gianni Green, Brady Lidster, Grace Miller, and Olivia Rizakos have been named OUA athletes of the week for the period ending September 28th, 2025.
Gianni Green, Football, Guelph Gryphons
The fourth-year defensive back Green led the Guelph Gryphons with four interceptions in their 55-28 win over the Carleton Ravens. His quartet of interceptions included returning one 61-yards for the game's opening touchdown. It marked Green's second career interception return for a touchdown after also taking one back against the Ravens last season when he returned one 74-yards for a major.
The arts student from Mississauga, Ont. joined the OUA and U SPORTS record books with his four picks as it tied the mark for most interceptions by a player in a single game. His impressive outing also puts Green at the top of the OUA leaderboard for interceptions with four.
Brady Lidster, Football, Windsor Lancers
Lidster continued his record-breaking season with the Windsor Lancers, with another historic performance in their 35-0 win over the Waterloo Warriors. After previously setting the Lancers' all-time career field goal record earlier this season, Lidster successfully converted all seven of his field goal attempts to set a new Lancer single-game record and tie the OUA record on Saturday. Lidster becomes just the fourth ever kicker to accomplish this feat, and the first since 2017.
His longest of the game came in the fourth frame, a 49-yard boot in the fourth quarter, a season best for the St. Thomas, Ont. product. The fourth-year kicker was consistent all throughout the night, with two field goals in the first quarter, three in the second, and two in the fourth, with two successful PAT converts for good measure.
Grace Miller, Field Hockey, Waterloo Warriors
Miller was the difference maker this weekend for the Waterloo Warriors as the OUA defending championship secured two key wins over top competition. In Saturday’s matchup with the Toronto Varsity Blues, Miller made extremely key saves in net to record a clean sheet in the 1-0 win.
Backing up that performance on Sunday, the fifth year netminder from Waterloo, Ont., made 17 saves for the Warriors with only one goal allowed on a short corner, to beat the York Lions and remain perfect on the season. Miller has had a fantastic start to the season in net with two shutouts through the first few weeks of the season.
Olivia Rizakos, Soccer, Guelph Gryphons
Rizakos continued her torrid goal scoring pace, scoring four times in the Guelph Gryphons’ victories in their home-and-home matchups with the Waterloo Warriors over the weekend. On Friday night, the forward bagged a pair of goals in Guelph’s 4-1 home win.
Rizakos’ fine form carried over in the rematch in Waterloo on Sunday afternoon where she scored twice and assisted on two other goals in the Gryphons 5-2 win. The psychology student has scored or assisted in eight of her squads’ nine matches, as her side currently sits second in the OUA West division with a record of 7-1-1. The Toronto, Ont. product currently leads the OUA and U SPORTS with 10 goals, 8 assists and 18 points
