KINGSTON, Ont. – The Royal Military College of Canada is excited to announce the hiring of Richard Lim as head coach of its men's hockey team.
Lim arrives at RMC with a strong background in both the college and the hockey program. He played five seasons for the Paladins from 2006-2011, and was named team captain in his final year. Upon graduation, he served as an assistant coach with the team from 2011-2013.
"I am deeply humbled and honoured to be named Head Coach of the RMC hockey program", said Lim. "As a former cadet and Paladin, I am excited to work with an exceptional group of individuals while contributing to the unique learning experience offered to varsity athletes at the College. I am committed to ensuring our team exemplifies the high standards of RMC and the Canadian Armed Forces both on and off the ice."
Lim steps in for Adam Shell, who resigned earlier this summer after eight seasons at the helm. Lim becomes the first RMC alumni since Andy Scott (Men's Hockey - 1996-2001) to take over as head coach of his alma mater. He officially takes over the program on September 11th.
The mission of the Royal Military College of Canada, Canada's Defence University, is to produce officers with the mental, ethical, physical and linguistic capabilities required to lead with distinction in the Canadian Forces.
