Masse, D'Agostini named OUA Athletes of the Week

BURLINGTON, Ont. - The following athletes have been named Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Athletes of the Week for the period ending November 30th, 2015.
FEMALE: Kylie Masse (LaSalle, Ont.) – 2nd yr. – Toronto Varsity Blues – Swimming
There was no slowing down University of Toronto Varsity Blues’ swimmer Kylie Masse (LaSalle, Ont.) this weekend.
Masse, a second-year kinesiology major, won six gold medals, five in meet record time and one in Canadian record time as the Blues captured the OUA Fairweather division title this past weekend in dominant fashion.
The LaSalle, Ont. native won and broke the Canadian 50-metre backstroke record, in a time of 26.84 to better the previous mark of 27.00. She also won the 200 backstroke and helped the 200 freestyle relay team to gold on Day 1 of the meet. She followed that up on Sunday with another three wins, placing first in the 100 backstroke and 200 IM, and helped U of T's 400 freestyle relay team to gold as well.
Masse and Toronto's women team won the division championship by 433 total points over the competition.
MALE: Andrew D'Agostini (Peterborough, Ont.) – 2nd yr – Guelph Gryphons – Hockey
Guelph Gryphons goalie Andrew D’Agostini (Scarborough, Ont.) was perfect this weekend, turning aside all 76 shots he faced for back-to-back shutouts.
On Friday night in Ottawa, the second-year public management student-athlete made 33 saves to lead the Gryphons to a 2-0 win over the No. 9 nationally-ranked Carleton Ravens.
The 5-foot-11, 183 lbs goaltender was back between the pipes on Saturday as the Gryphons took on the RMC Paladins. D'Agostini would stand tall for Guelph once again turning away all 43 shots he faced on the way to his second shutout in as many nights, and third of the season, as the Gryphons prevailed 3-0.
D’Agostini and the Gryphons return to action on Thursday when they head to Waterloo, Ont. for a morning matchup against the Laurier Golden Hawks. Puck drop on the "School Day" game is scheduled for 11:00 am.
