TORONTO, Ontario – The 48th Vanier Cup, to be held on Friday, November 23 during the historic 100th Grey Cup Festival in a joint partnership between MRX, the Canadian Interuniversity Sport and the 100th Grey Cup Festival, will be an epic rematch between last year’s champions, the McMaster Marauders, and Laval’s Rouge et Or. Tickets are in high demand and sales are closing in on 30,000, quickly approaching the all-time Vanier Cup attendance record of 32,847, set back in 1989 in Toronto!
With the nail-biting finish of last year’s match between these two teams, which was played in Vancouver’s BC Place Stadium in front of 25,000 supporters, demand is so great that organizers are opening the East side of the 500 level with a special $40 ticket. These tickets are on-sale TODAY at www.ticketmaster.ca.
The best teams in Canadian University football will go head-to-head this Friday at Rogers Centre in Toronto with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Future CFL prospects will battle it out in front of an electric crowd that has already surpassed the 2007 Toronto attendance numbers of 26,787 fans, which was the largest Vanier Cup crowd since 1995.
