Kennedy, D'Aguilar and Wamsley named OUA football players of the week
OFFENCE: Austin Kennedy, Windsor Lancers, Quarterback
Austin Kennedy (Windsor, Ont.) was deadly from behind centre, going 31-of-41 with six touchdowns, tying a team record for most passing touchdowns in a single game. Kennedy also broke two of his own records, passing for 482 yards on 31 completions.
DEFENCE: Ben D'Aguilar, McMaster Marauders, Defensive End
Ben D’Aguilar (Hamilton, Ont.) was a dominant force along the front four for the Marauders in the 50-9 win over Guelph. The fourth-year defensive end had five solo tackles and three sacks, and was a constant source of pressure on the Gryphon quarterbacks all day.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Dillon Wamsley, Queen's Gaels, Kicker
Dillon Wamsley (London, Ont.) had an outstanding rookie debut on opening day, as the No. 6 Queen's Gaels defeated the York Lions 48-13. Wamsley went 3-for-3 on field goals, including a 48-yarder in the first quarter, and finished with 14 points on the day. He averaged 36.3 yards on nine punts, including two that went over 50 yards. He also averaged 52.5 yards on kickoffs, with three traveling over 60 yards.
