McMaster also has eight wins for 16 points (with one more match played than the Mustangs) after blanking the Guelph Gryphons 3-0 Saturday in Hamilton. Mac got off to a torrid start with a massive 25-11 victory in the opening set. The Marauders, led by 12 kills from Carly Welch and 34 assists from Jennifer Holt, closed out the remaining two sets 25-18 and 25-23. Kendall Milne pounded out 11 kills for Guelph in a losing cause.
In East Division play, Toronto continued their impressive start, winning for the eleventh straight time since the season began in a one-sided 3-0 victory over Ryerson. After taking the first set 25-17, the Blues were unstoppable in the second, eventually coming out on top 25-5. The third set was much closer, though Toronto completed the straight-set win with a 25-23 victory. Caley Venn led Toronto with 13 points, while Heather Bansley and Kristina Valjas had nine kills apiece. All-star Anastasia Danilova led all players with 30 assists.
In other league action, Guelph beat Brock 3-2 in St. Catharines Wednesday; Queen's defeated RMC 3-1 Friday; and on Saturday, York shutout Ryerson 3-0 and Waterloo blanked the Badgers 3-0.
