BROCK EARNS RIGHT TO HOST WITH WIN OVER LAURIER
With home field advantage for next weekend's OUA Lacrosse Championship on the line, Heidi Krasnozon came up big for the Brock Badgers and led them to a 9-8 victory over the previously undefeated Laurier Golden Hawks. With her team down two goals with less than 10 minutes remaining, Krasnozon took the game in her own hands and scored three goals in the come from behind victory. Her game winner, her seventh of the game broke the 8-8 stalemate, came in the last minute of play. It is the first time in school history that the Badgers went undefeated throughout the regular season.
With the win Brock earned hosting rights for next weekend's Final Four. The Badgers will face Toronto, who edged out Queen's for the East division's second and final playoff spot. The Blues came within two goals of knocking off the undefeated Brock team on Sunday. Katie Godfrey scored a hat trick for Toronto in the 9-7 loss, while Krasnozon and Heather Stephens each scored one of their own hat tricks for Brock. Stephens added four more to her season total in Brock's 8-1 win over McMaster.
The defending champion Laurier Golden Hawks who finished on top of the East division will play the second-ranked McMaster Marauders for the West division. The Hawks bounced back from the 9-8 loss to Brock to defeat Western 16-6. Jenna McCoubrey found the back of the net on four occasions.
