Windsor will now face the Carleton Ravens on Saturday, March 5th at the Ravens Nest in Ottawa, ON. The game will be broadcast LIVE on www.oua.tv.
Similar to their two previous meetings during the regular season, tonight's game was neck and neck from the opening tip-off with the lead changing 14 times and score being tied eight times throughout the game.
Windsor narrowly out-rebounded Laurier 35-33, while the Hawks shot 43% from the field compared to Windsor 42.7%. The difference in the game came from the free throw line, where the Lancers shot an impressive 90% from the stripe, and the Hawks only made their free throws 69% of the time.
Windsor led a balanced attack as all five starters hit double digits on the scoresheet. Senior guard Emily Prevost led all scorers with a game high 21 points, while Carly Steer chipped in 17 points. Cheyanne Roger had 15 points to go along with her game high 9 rebounds, Caitlyn Longmuir had 13 points and Kaylee Anagnostopoulos put up 10.
The Golden Hawks had four scorers hit double digits and, by no surprise, were led by Kaitlyn Schenck with 19 points. Nicole Morrison and Heather Payne each chipped in 17, while Courtney Bruce had 14.
