Rams too much for Gryphons in Guelph

Keneca Pingue-Giles (Winnipeg, Man.) led all scorers with 20 points in the victory while Sofia Paska (Etobicoke, Ont.) added 17 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
The Rams opened the game with an efficient first quarter, piling up 24 points to lead 24-14 after ten minutes. The lead grew to 17 at halftime as the Rams headed to the locker rooms up 42-25.
The two teams matched each other with 15 points each in the third quarter before the Rams closed the game with the 77-54 victory.
Ryerson held the Gryphons to just 18-for-77 from the floor for a shooting percentage of just 23.4%. The Rams, meanwhile, shot 40.3% from the floor on 27-of-67 attempts. The Rams also forced 18 Gryphon turnovers.
Guelph's Bridget Atkinson posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.
The Rams improve to 13-3 on the season and move back into a tie for first place in the OUA East division with Queen's. Ryerson is back in action on Friday when they travel to Thunder Bay to take on the Lakehead Thunderwolves starting at 6:00 p.m.
