It may not have been a win and a full three points, but the Nipissing Lakers did extend their unbeaten streak to five games thanks to a draw Saturday afternoon.
All the scoring came in the second half as Nipissing and the Queen's Gaels battled to a 1-1 draw, each gaining a point in the standings.

Despite more chances from Nipissing, the Gaels tied the game up in the 69 th minute to draw even.
While the Lakers outchanced the Gaels and threatened a number of times, it was Queens who would come closest, hitting the post late in the game.

Brock men's soccer plays Gryphons to 0-0 draw
ST. CATHARINES, Ont – This afternoon, the Brock men's soccer team (2-8-1 OUA) played their first game on the Alumni field versus the Guelph Gryphons. The game would end in a scoreless tie as they close in on the final playoff spot.
In the opening 10 minutes, Guelph carried all the momentum, but it was Brock starter Matthew Zaikos (Markham, Ont.) stopping three straight shots, including winning a one-on-one with a beautiful dive to keep it deadlocked at 0-0. Eric Bradey (Guelph, Ont.) collided with Zaikos on the play, both going down and appeared to be in a fair amount of pain.
As the half carried on, the Badgers picked up the pace but could not get anything going offensively. Both teams were tied 0-0 after 45 minutes.
In the second, the game was competitive but disciplined as both teams would see time in each others end with a number of scoring opportunities.
In the 89th minute, Guelph would have the chance to win it with a free kick just outside Brock's 18 yard box, but Zaikos came up with the easy save.
In goal Zaikos turned aside all 12 shots he faced for the shutout. Guelph starter Bradon Taylor added two saves in the tie.
The Badgers return to action October 10th on the road versus the Windsor Lancers before travelling north October 17th & 18th against the Algoma Thunderbirds.

Scholz provides the dagger as McMaster tops Western 1-0
Stefan Scholz took on the role of super sub yet again on Saturday, a position he seems more and more accustomed to with each passing week. The Marauder striker scored the only goal in London, as McMaster topped Western for a second time by a 1-0 score to win their fifth consecutive match.
It was the head of Scholz that provided the pivotal touch in the 63rd minute, delivering another key victory to the CIS no. 7-ranked Marauders, who improve to 8-2 on the season and pull into second place in the OUA West Division.
McMaster returns to action on Sunday, when they meet the team currently patrolling the top of the division, the Windsor Lancers. The Lancers are an impressive 8-1-1 on the season, but their only loss came to the Marauders in September. If McMaster can get the best of Windsor yet again, they will take over the driver's seat in the OUA West.
