UW HALL OF FAMER NAMED HEAD COACH OF WARRIOR'S MENS' GOLF
Dave has a rich history with Warrior Golf. He was a member of three championships teams for Waterloo (1969, 1970, and 1972) and was captain for one of those victories in 1972. He was a member of the Warrior golf team from 1969-1974 and captain from 1971-1973. He was a member of three provincial championship teams, capturing the OUAA Ruttan Cup in 1969, 1970 and 1972. He was silver medallist at the McCall Cup in 1970 (the individual golf championship in the OUAA) and is a five-time team winner of the University of Waterloo's Invitational Golf Tournament. Dave graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and was inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame in 2000.
"Dave is no stranger to our program. He understands the traditions of Warrior Golf. We are excited to have Dave as our new head coach and I have no doubt he will continue to sustain the high level of success our golf program is accustomed to," commented Athletic Director Judy McCrae.
KARLA MUNCH NAMED WARRIOR WOMEN'S GOLF HEAD COACH
WATERLOO, Ont. - As the OUA prepares to embark on its inaugural season of Women's Golf in 2005, the Waterloo Warriors are pleased to announce Karla Munch as head coach of the Warrior Women's Golf program.
Karla is the first women's golf head coach at the University of Waterloo. She is currently the Assistant Golf Professional and Special Events Coordinator at the Cambridge Golf and Country Club. She has played in many amateur tournaments on the Ontario Ladies circuit and several CPGA events on the Bank of Montreal Ladies tour.
Karla will take over this May and the first OUA event is scheduled for May 14, 2005 at the Toronto Ladies Golf Club.
"We are excited to add women's golf to our athletics programs. Karla comes to us with a wealth of golf experience and we are confident she will bring her knowledge and passion for the game to Waterloo," commented Athletic Director Judy McCrae.
