DAY ONE CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS
In the women’s competition, Western picked up right where they left off during the regular season by dominating the team play. The Mustangs combined for a sizzling score of 245 (four players with the top three scores counting), 16 strokes better than the closest competition, the Varsity Blues (261). The Gryphons are alone in third place entering day two after combining for a score of 268.
There was a five-way tie for top spot in the men’s individual results with Brian Caesar (Laurentian), Paul DeLoose (Carleton), Justin Fleet (Waterloo), Mark VanderBeek (Waterloo) and Andrew Jensen (Ottawa) all carding 73s. McMaster’s Jason Wellings and Waterloo duo Arjun Walla and Jud Whiteside were one stroke back at 74.
