
Admans, Liu and Robinson named OUA athletes of the week
Burlington, Ont. – Aliah Admans, Julia Liu and Owen Robinson have been named OUA athletes of the week for the period ending January 26, 2025.
Aliah Admans, Windsor Lancers, Volleyball
Admans, a third-year psychology student, led the Windsor Lancers to two big victories over the RMC Paladins this weekend. She dominated the stat sheet with a combined 0.550 hitting percentage and an absurd 36 kills in just six sets.
The London, Ont. product put up 21 kills in the Lancers’ 3-0 win on Friday night over RMC. Admans added four assists, two service aces, and 10 digs to her stat line in the win. She backed up that performance with 15 kills, one service ace, and five digs on Saturday afternoon in their second straight sets victory over the Paladins.
Admans is having a terrific season for Windsor as she currently leads the OUA with 4.17 kills per set and 4.9 points per set.
Julia Liu, Toronto Varsity Blues, Volleyball
Liu, a first-year commerce student, has been on fire over the past two weeks - helping the Blues to back-to-back five set wins over Waterloo this past weekend totaling 50.5 points across the two matches. Beginning with the Friday night showdown in Waterloo, Liu registered a new career-high 27.5 points with a career-high 25 kills, plus two service aces and one assisted block.
Liu then followed that up with another 23-point outing on Saturday with 18 kills, three aces, and two solo blocks. In addition, she tallied eight digs on Friday and 14 digs on Saturday to contribute defensively.
The Ottawa, Ont. product has now recorded 20 or more points in each of her last four games, totaling 95.5 points during the career best stretch.
Owen Robinson, Toronto Varsity Blues, Hockey
Robinson, a fourth-year criminology student, continued to add to an already impressive season with five total points across two wins for the Blues versus the visiting Nipissing Lakers. The Orangeville, Ont., native opened his weekend with a goal and an assist in an impressive 5-0 victory on home ice on Friday.
He then followed that up with an even better two goals and an assist on Saturday, including the powerplay game-winner early in the second period of the 6-0 win.
Now with 10 multi-point games this season, Robinson currently holds a five-point advantage in the OUA scoring race, leading the province with 34 total points (13 goals, 21 assists). He also ranks first in the OUA in assists, tied for third in game-winning goals (3), and tied for eighth in powerplay goals (4).
