The CIS All-Canadian earned a spot on the 100m Freestyle relay team after finishing fourth with a time of 49.75 in the race.
Santo Condorelli won the race with a time of 48.16 seconds. He elevated Canada as a whole by forcing those chasing him in the water on Friday to greater speeds. Yuri Kisil was second (48.58), Markus Thormeyer third (49.38) and Moerkerke fourth to round out the men's 4x100m-free relay team in Rio.
