OUA W-VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: LIONS REMAIN UNDEFEATED FOLLOWING KINGSTON ROAD TRIP
The Lions had a couple of stellar performances, notably from rookie Kristina Vlcek (Toronto, Ont.) who had 14 points in the game, including 10 kills, as well as fifth-year veteran Angela Frawley (Sudbury, Ont.) who added 12 points which included eight kills. The Paladins had no answer for the superior Lions team throughout the contest and the match lasted barely an hour.
York continued its remarkable season with a complete demolition of the Queen's Gaels, beating them 3-0 (25-11, 25-23, 25-23). Despite a few nervous moments, the Lions dominated the contest from start to finish. York was led by rookie Thinesa Sriskandrajah (Scarborough, Ont.) who had a whopping 13 kills in the match, as well as Frawley , who racked up eight kills.
On the service front, rookie Laura Scull (St. Catharines, Ont.) had five service aces and Vlcek chipped in with 11 blocks. Veteran Nadia Reider (Buenos Aires, Argentina) added 28 assists for the Lions in the win. For the Gaels, Natalie Gray and Lorna Button had a respectable outing, adding nine and eight kills, respectively.

WESTERN 3, GUELPH 0
LONDON, Ont. - The Guelph Gryphons women's volleyball team came up against a very solid Western Mustangs squad who outperformed the Gryphons in all phases winning 3-0.
Guelph didn't play poorly in the loss but simply couldn't match Western's consistency in attack and defence.
The Gryphons were led by Jenny Vance with 12 points (11 kills, 1 block) followed by Kylen Van Osch with nine (6 kills, 1 ace, 2 blocks) and Clair Sandor with eight (5 kills, 3 blocks).

MCMASTER 3, WINDSOR 0
WINDSOR, Ont. - On Sunday against the McMaster Marauders, the Windsor Lancers fell behind early two sets to none (13-25, 18-25). However, the team refused to give in and battled the Marauders all the way to the end, eventually losing a lengthy third set 32-34.
Jennifer Ellig (Windsor, Ont.) had another impressive game for Windsor as she led the team with 11 kills while also picking up 7 digs. Brianna Binder (Maidstone, Ont.) also played well with 8 kills and 14 digs while rookie Ana Vrcelj (Windsor, Ont.) had perhaps her best game as a Lancer with 4 kills.

QUEEN'S 3, LAKEHEAD 0
KINGSTON, Ont. - Elyssa Heller (Highland Parl, Ill.) fired five service aces and recorded nine kills to lead the Gaels to a straight set victory over Lakehead on Saturday inside Bartlett Gym on campus at Queen's University.
Heller led the team in points with 16 while setter Kristin Collins (Whitby, Ont.) recorded 32 assists and six digs in the win over the Thunderwolves.
The Gaels traded points with Lakehead early, but the Gaels would find its stride late to secure the first set 25-18. The momentum carried into the final two sets, with the Gaels winning handily recording 25-13 and 25-15 set victories.
Queen's record improves to 3-4 after splitting the weekend series against Lakehead and York.
