OUA LACROSSE ROUNDUP: HAWKS FINISH REGULAR SEASON 12-0
The scoring against McMaster was opened just 23 seconds in as Kirsten Gerrie (Orillia, Ont.) slapped the ball past Anna Goulding (Oshawa, Ont.). Laurier's Amanda Groothuis (Kitchener, Ont.) scored the eventual game winner at the 3:46 mark.
The Hawks scored a total of 11 goals in the first half of the game to the Marauder's one. The second half saw McMaster held off the scoreboard with Laurier tallying eight more goals.
Top scorers for the Hawks were Braedyn O'Rahilly (Whitby, Ont.), Gerrie and Meagan Fox (Whitby, Ont.). The lone scorer for the Marauders was Jackie Heaton (Peterborough, Ont.).
Laurier will now host the OUA Lacrosse Championship at University Stadium on Sat., Oct. 25 and 26. Their first game will be against the fourth-seeded team at 8 p.m. The winner of the match will advance to the OUA final.

QUEEN'S CLINCHES SECOND PLACE
WATERLOO, Ont. – Queen's needed three wins this weekend to secure second place in OUA and they succeeded by sweeping its weekend matches.
The Gaels met McMaster on Saturday afternoon and defeated the Marauders 17-8. Queen's had nine different scorers as Kesley Eriksen (Andover, Ont.), Jackie Byers (Mississauga, Ont.) and Lisa McLaughlin (Whitby, Ont.) all scored three goals apiece.
On Sunday morning the Gaels took on McGill handing the Martlets a 21-3 defeat. Queen's spread the goals around once again having 11 different scores with Martha Ross (Newton, Man.) scoring six goals. In the afternoon match Queen's was took on third place Western who had beat Queen's in their last meeting 8-7. The Gaels were able to turn away Western's offensive punch defeating the Mustangs 18-11. McLaughlin led the way with eight goals while Byers had four.
The Gaels will return to Waterloo next week for the OUA Lacrosse Championship. Queen's will face Western on Saturday morning to determine who will play for gold on Sunday.
