TORONTO, Ont. - University of Toronto Varsity Blues alumna Sarah Wells claimed the women's 400m hurdles silver medal at the 2015 Pan American Games on Wednesday evening in Toronto.
Wells crossed the finish line in 56.17 seconds, just behind Shamier Little of the United States (55.50). The Unionville, Ont., native ran to her fourth career Canadian title earlier this month in Edmonton.
Wells, now competing as a member of University of Toronto Track Club, enjoyed a wealth of success during her four years with the Varsity Blues. She was named an OUA second team all-star and went onto represent Canada at the 2010 NACAC under-23 championships in 2010. She capped off the 2012 indoor season as a member of the OUA and CIS record-breaking 4x400m-metre relay team, garnering OUA all-star and CIS all-Canadian first team status.
