OUA provides update on wrestling championships
Burlington, Ont. - Following discussion and consultation with Ontario University Athletics (OUA) members, the decision was made to push back the date of the OUA Wrestling Championships.
The conference finale will now take place on April 2, 2022, and be hosted by the Brock Badgers.
Concerns were brought forward by OUA members with respect to the complexity of the high-contact sport of wrestling and its effect on student-athlete health and safety, noting the need to engage in both sufficient training time and competitions prior to any championship experience.
