RAVENS BEAT GEE-GEES FOR EAST TITLE
The Ravens came out on fire looking to win their sixth straight regular season crown. Carleton quickly built up a double digit-lead and beat Ottawa at all aspects of the game, shooting 50 percent in the first half, out rebounding them on both the offensive and defensive boards and taking an
18-point lead into the break, 39-21. The Ravens defense held Ottawa in check and kept the Gee-Gees under 20 points until the final shot of the first half.
In the second half, Ottawa kept chipping away at the lead, never coming closer than five points, but the second place Gee-Gees did make a game of it down the stretch. Carleton's experience and great defense never let Ottawa have a chance at tying the game and the leadership of Osvalso Jeanty and Aaron Doornekamp was too much for Ottawa to make a late bid at winning the game.
Carleton was led by Doornekamp's 20 points and nine rebounds. Jeanty added 10 points and five assists, Jean Emmanuel Jean Marie chipped in with 17 points and five rebounds. The Ravens out rebounded Ottawa 34 to 24 for the game.
Marko Jovic had a game high 21 points to lead Ottawa. The only other Gee-Gee in double figures was Alex McLeod with 11 points.
