WESTERN CLAIMS TITLE IN CONVINCING FASHION
Having lost only six matches all season long, the Western Mustangs finished off their stellar season, by giving up only two matches this weekend on their way to capturing the OUA badminton championship. The Mustangs defeated defending champion Toronto Varsity Blues 12-1 in the semi-finals before moving on to beat Waterloo by the same score.
Waterloo had upset the 5-1 York Lions 7-6 in the other semi-final. York went on to win the bronze medal 9-4.
The only players able to get a win from the strong Western team was Waterloo's combination of Teresa Tso and Georgia Lau and Toronto's Mike Glenney.
