CARLETON, YORK, WETSERN AND QUEEN'S ADVANCE TO OUA FINAL FOUR
Carleton University defeated the Nipissing University Lakers, 4-1, at Keith Harris Stadium, in Ottawa, Ontario to advance to the OUA "Final Four" Tournament which they will host next weekend, as the highest OUA East seed. The Ravens controlled much of the play in the quarter-final match-up. Raven Ahmad Berjawi (Ottawa, Ont.) opened the scoring at the 23rd minute as the home side went on to score three more goals through by Andrew Park (Sudbury, Ont.), Abdullahi Abunafeesa, (Ottawa, Ont.) and Paul Waiganjo (Ottawa, Ont.). Raven goalkeeper Karl Wasslen (Ottawa, Ont.) had a strong performance and gave up a last minute penalty kick at the 90th minute of play for the only visiting goal of the match.
York 3, Windsor 1
The York University Lions have earned a berth to the OUA final four with a 3-1 victory over the University of Windsor Lancers Saturday afternoon at York Stadium. York scored two in the first half from Luca Forno (Toronto, Ont.) and Francesco Bruno (Toronto, Ont.) before Douglas Sereti (Brampton, Ont.) added an insurance goal on a breakaway seven minutes into the second half. Darren Dielemans () of Windsor scored at 48:40 but it was not enough to overtake the Lions.
Western 2, Brock 1 OT
The University of Western Ontario Mustangs defeated the visiting Brock University Badgers in a shoot-out on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Western's defense was solid once again and when tested, Mustang goalkeeper Haidar Al-Shaibani (London, Ont.) was strong. Michel Dauost (Hunter River, USA) finally scored the game's first goal at the end of the first overtime frame. Brock's Giuseppe Politti (Sudbury, Ont.) tied the score at 1-1 with just under two minutes left in the second overtime. When it came to the shoot-out, Western edged out Brock for the victory.
Queen's 2, Toronto 1
The Queen's University Golden Gaels have advanced to the OUA Final Four after a 2-1 win over the host University of Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday afternoon. The Gaels fell behind ten minutes into the game on a goal by Blue Evan Milward (Kingston, Ont.). Queen's tied the game in the 33rd minute on a goal by Nick Milonas (Kingston, Ont.) and the Gaels recorded the game winner ten minutes after halftime when Alex Makin (Port Hope, Ont.) scored his first goal of the season.
