RAVENS TO BE HONOURED AT HOOPS HALL OF FAME
The two former Raven players and the 2005 team will be honoured at halftime of the men's game, as Mr. John Gossett, Director of the Naismith Foundation will present plaques that will hang in the \"Naismith Honor Roll\" Hall within the Almonte, ON Museum. This will bring the total to nine former Ravens who have their plaque and accomplishments on display in the \"Naismith Honor Roll\" Hall. In addition, the three CIS national champion teams also have their plaque enshrined in the Hall.
Smart and Ross were part of the three-time CIS champion Raven teams and were both members during 78 of the OUA and CIS regular and post season winning streak, which later grew to 87 straight before the team's first league loss.
The Raven alumnus in the Hall are Taffe Charles, Jafeth Maseruka, Brian Leonard, Andy Stewart, Rob Smart Jr, Josh Poirier, Paul Larmand, Charlie Cattran and Rosie Warden of the women's program.
\"I am very happy the Naismith Museum and John Gossett have recognized our student-athletes and their success on the court,\" said Drew Love, Director of Physical Recreation and Athletics. \"It is a great honour for our program to be able to display the program's accomplishments in the Canadian Basketball Museum.\"
The Ravens game, on Friday, January 27th, starts at 8PM, at the Ravens' Nest, located on Carleton University's Campus, in Alumni Hall & Sports Centre.
