"David was a great golfer, a better leader, and an even better person," said golf head coach Brandon McLeod. "I was so happy that I was able to witness his career best round last year at the Waterloo Invitational. It was the second round of the tournament and he was coming off a very tough day at Rebel Creek where the weather was really ugly. The second round was held at Grey Silo and David went out and shot a 65, a 6 under round of golf and the best on the day by 2 shots, and 14 shots better from round 1 at Rebel. It was good for a third place, a remarkable finish after the day one 79. The players in his group marvelled to me throughout the day about how awesome he was playing and how he couldn't stop making birdies on the day. I will never forget the smile on his face coming down his 18 hole of the day, walking up to the green for yet another birdie try and a putt for a 64. He missed the putt, but I will never forget that day at Grey Silo and watching Dave put together one of the best round of golf in Guelph Gryphons history."
