OUA and Curling Ontario statement on event scheduling conflict

Ontario University Athletics (OUA) and Curling Ontario understand that the 2025 OUA Women’s Curling Championship and the 2025 Curling Ontario U20 Men’s & Women’s Championship currently overlap in the competition schedule. The former is set to take place from January 30th to February 2nd, with the latter starting the day prior.

Stemming from this overlap is the potential impact on some curlers’ ability to compete in both events.

Upon recognizing this situation, every effort has been made by both the OUA and Curling Ontario to rectify this unfortunate situation; however, neither event is able to change its respective event dates at this time.

With both organizations determined to provide their athletes with opportunities to compete at a high level, the OUA and Curling Ontario are committed to ensuring a more collaborative approach moving forward, with further efforts being made to ensure such instances, whenever possible, do not occur in the future.
