OUA LACROSSE ROUNDUP
The Golden Hawks outscored the opposition 57-9 in three games. Against the host Gryphons, Laurier built a 10-1 lead en route to a 20-3 victory. Twelve players contributed goals for the Golden Hawks, including Kristen Sarson (Bedford, Ont.) with four and Heather McHardy (Whitby, Ont.) and Braedyn O'Rahilly with hat tricks.
Amy Fincham (Whitby, Ont.) netted three goals in Laurier's 19-4 win over the McMaster Marauders. O'Rahilly was the top point-getter with seven, including six helpers.
In the weekend finale, Laurier easily handled the Western Mustangs 18-2. McHardy (pictured) led the way with five goals.
The Golden Hawks (5-0) head to Toronto next weekend to face the only other unbeaten team in OUA, the Queen's Gaels (3-0) who were idle this past weekend.
The Toronto Varsity Blues also went undefeated on the weekend, defeating Guelph 16-6 and Western 9-7. Jen Held (Brampton, Ont.) tallied seven goals for the Varsity Blues, while teammate Tory Merrill (Orangeville, Ont.) contributed five goals.
McMaster and Western both escaped Guelph with victories. While the Mustangs defeated the Marauders 11-9, McMaster bounced back with a 10-9 win over the Gryphons.
