The Gee-Gees women's soccer team were in Kingston for their final two games of the 2024-25 regular season. Set to face a pair of teams they defeated earlier in the season, the Gee-Gees were looking to end regular season action on a high note.
Ottawa met with the RMC Paladins first, taking the afternoon matchup with a convincing 6-0 score.
Cassandra Provost got things started with a goal at the 19-minute mark. Eliane Gervais was next, and Katie Brzozowski added a third before the end of the opening half.
Brzozowski returns to the Gee-Gees squad following an injury, and her presence in the lineup was immediately felt as she found the net to make it 3-0 for Ottawa.
The second half was like the first, all Gee-Gees. Sabrina Mangiaracina scored her fifth of the season, and Eva Bouity logged a pair of goals to call game.
With a 6-0 victory behind them, Ottawa's focus shifted to the Queen's Gaels. Ranked sixth in the country, facing the Gaels is never easy. The Gee-Gees took their first matchup of the season 1-0, Maya Smith was the lone goal scorer.
This time, the teams battled in the wind and cold at Richardson Stadium. After a scoreless opening half, Gee-Gees leading goal scorer, Provost, found the bottom right corner of the net for the first score of the day.
With a 1-0 lead at the 62-minute mark, there was still lots of work to do. Gervais added to Provost's goal with one of her own, making the most out of a corner kick scramble that left her on own in front of the net.
The Gee-Gees close out the regular season with a 2-0 win over the Gaels and return to Ottawa with two more wins on the record, improving to 11-1 on the season.
The win officially secures the top spot in the OUA for the Gee-Gees, earning them the right to host the playoffs all the way through. The team will start their road to defending the OUA conference title on Oct. 23. Tickets can be purchased at tickets.geegees.ca
