The University of Ottawa men's hockey team concluded their regular season with a pair of road games. Starting things off in St. Catharines, the team picked up a 3-2 overtime win over the Badgers before heading to Guelph for a 3-0 victory, this time over the Gryphons.
On Friday evening, the Badgers got one past the Gee-Gees to start things off. Bradley Chenier responded with a goal of his own to make it 1-1. In the second, the Badgers struck first. Vincent Labelle snuck the puck over the Brock goalie's left pad to tie up the game at 2-2 heading into the final 20 minutes of action.
A scoreless third period sent the game to overtime. With the clock winding down, Marc-Antoine Seguin swooped in for the game winning goal.
Following a scoreless opening 20 minutes on Saturday night, Charles-Antoine Roy logged the first of the night at the five-minute mark of the second period against the Guelph Gryphons.
A breakaway opportunity led to the second Gee-Gees goal of the night. Chenier tapped the puck into the net to establish a 2-0 lead with under seven minutes left to play. Nicolas Kingsbury-Fournier took it upon himself to seal the deal with an empty net goal, calling game at 3-0 to close out the regular season.
The team will be back in action for the opening round of the OUA playoffs. Games are slated for Feb. 19-Feb. 23.
