Aside from the third set where the Carabins jumped out to a 5-0 lead and never looked back, it was very close.
Queen's was led by player of the game Bryan Fautley (third year, Oakville Ont.) who had 21 kills and five digs. Second team CIS all-star Joren Zeeman (third year, Cambridge, Ont.) had 15 kills and six digs. Niko Rukavina (third year, Mississauga, Ont.) had 11 kills.
The Carabins were paced by Emmanuel Andre-Morin (fourth year, Vaudreil-sur-le-lac, Que). The 2010 Dale Iwanoczko Award winner had 22 kills. Andy Oshima (fourth year, Saitama-Ken, Japan) added 12 kills.
Queen's will await the winner of a 3 p.m. PDT match between the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack and Dalhousie University Tigers.
The Championship side semifinals have the Trinity Western Spartans of Canada West taking on FSQE's University of Laval Rouge et Or at 6 p.m. PDT. The other semi final is an all Canada West affair with the two time defending national champion University of Alberta Golden Bears pitted against their provincial rivals: the University of Calgary Dinos.
