LANCERS SET A NEW RECORD TO CLAIM OUA TITLE
With filling positions 1 through 4, the Windsor Lancers broke a three-year old record for lowest score at an OUA Cross-Country Championship. The Lancers edged out Guelph's record by two points, as BLG Award Winner Ryan McKenzie led Windsor's charge. His time of 31:04 in the 10 km race creates a record for the Sunnybrook course, new to the OUA this season. It was the Lancers first cross-country championship since 1998.
Guelph finished second as they were looking for their fifth consecutive OUA title this weekend.
QUEEN'S SWEEPS TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL HONOURS
The Queen's Golden Gaels led by Beth Wightman won their first OUA cross-country title since 1991. Wightman's time of 17:08 in the 5 km race was a full 17 seconds faster the second place finisher.
Western finished second in team results as well as the individual race with Shannon Gerrie following Wightman.
