Carleton receives CSTA PRESTIGE award for the 2010 CIS Final 8 Championship
OTTAWA (CSTA) - The Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance (CSTA) announced the recipients of the 2011 PRESTIGE Awards today at the 5th Annual PRESTIGE Awards Gala Luncheon, which pays tribute to individuals and groups from across Canada for their contributions to the sport tourism industry.
"We are thrilled to honour those who have truly made a significant impact on the Canadian sport tourism industry," said CSTA President Janet Gates, who presented the awards along with PRESTIGE sponsors on Thursday. "These awards celebrate the people, places and events that make Canada's dynamic sport tourism industry so integral to the economic fabric of our communities."
More than 350 individuals from Canada's sport and tourism communities attended the luncheon, which was held in conjunction with the CSTA's 2011 Sport Events Congress. TSN broadcaster Rod Black, one of Canada's most recognized and distinguished sportscasters, served as Master of Ceremonies.

CSTA President's Award Recipients
The President's Award recognizes the outstanding achievements or contributions by individuals, organizations, single or multi-sport events that have helped profile and build sport tourism in Canada, provide exceptional sporting opportunities, generate significant revenue, or demonstrate the value of volunteerism.
The CSTA presented three distinguished President's Awards to the following 2010 events:

• Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (Vancouver / Whistler, BC)
• 2010 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games (London, ON)
