McMaster rested the majority of its top runners on both the men's and women's sides this past weekend, and did not register a full team on the men's side. However, Darlington ran alongside teammate Alex Green, making his return to the trails after sitting out the first two meets of McMaster's schedule.
Darlington finished second overall, behind former Windsor Lancer Nick Falk, finishing the seven and a half kilometre course in 24:46.43. His partner on the afternoon, Green finished 19th in a time of 26:18.32.
While they missed many of their top scorers, McMaster did enter a team in the women's field, and were led on the afternoon by Kierstin Myers, who finished fifth. Chelsea Mackinnon (12th), Racquel Burgess (17th), Lizz Hodgson (20th), Kaitlyn Pansegrau (23rd), Adrienne Morgan (25th) and Alannah Kelly (31st) completed the scoring for McMaster.
The Marauders finished second in the overall standings, 44 points behind the host Waterloo Warriors.
