The Brock women's soccer team battled the McMaster Marauders to a 1-1 draw during its Ontario University Athletics (OUA) season opener at Alumni Field in St. Catharines on Friday, Sept. 8.
After trailing 1-0 early in the first half, second-year striker
Jenna Parris found the back of the net to salvage points for the Badgers. Parris recorded six shots on goal.
Third-year striker
Sabrina Bisante registered the assist while senior goalkeeper
Emma Hendrie secured three saves.
Grace Tawil, a third-year centre back, posted three shots. Bisante and first-year winger
Kate Halley each contributed a pair.
Brock outshot McMaster 16-5 and manufactured six corners versus McMaster's three. Both squads committed nine fouls apiece.
For McMaster, Alena Spehar scored during the opening five minutes of the match.
