Brock women’s soccer forfeits four games due to ineligibility
Burlington, Ont. – Ontario University Athletics announced today that the Brock University women’s soccer team will forfeit the results of their first four games in the 2017 season due to the participation of an ineligible player.
The eligibility violation was reviewed and verified, and as a result, games in which the Brock University athlete participated in are forfeited.
The team’s score of a 2-2 tie against Wilfrid Laurier on August 25th and their score of a 1-1 tie against Waterloo will be removed and will now stand as a loss with the score of 1-0. The team’s win on September 8th against Guelph will be removed and will now stand as a loss with a score of 1-0 and the September 10th game score in Brock’s loss against Western (1-0) stands. All team and player statistics remain in place with the exception of the ineligible player who will not be able to play for the rest of the season. Brock’s postseason eligibility is not affected.
All aforementioned changes that have occurred as a result of this are now reflected in the results.
