In the second leg of a home-and-home and the Riley Cup, the Nipissing Lakers and Laurentian Voyageurs mixed things up again Wednesday night in North Bay at the Education Centre Field.
After the Vees took Saturday's first meeting, the teams battled to a 1-1 draw in the second matchup which means it's all up to the men's game to decide the winner of the Riley Cup, which is awarded to the winner of the regular season series between both the women's and men's programs.
The Lakers opened up the scoring in the 15th minute as Tori Welk tapped in a ball that made its way deep into the Laurentian 18-yard box.
The score remained 1-0 Nipissing at half time, as the teams came out looking for a quick goal in the second 45 minutes.
The teams traded chances, but neither could sustain much pressure in the early parts of the second half until the Voyageurs evened things up in the 70 th minute.
A scramble in front of Lakers goalkeeper Kelly Dunk led to the Vees goal, which tied things up.
A few late chances by the Lakers came up short and the final ended in a draw.
Dunk made six saves in the end.
The Lakers now have the weekend off before wrapping up the home season Oct. 9 and 10.
