TORONTO - The No. 1 ranked Brock University men's and women's wrestling teams captured their second tournament of the season as they won both divisions at the Toronto Open.

TORONTO - The No. 1 ranked Brock University men's and women's wrestling teams captured their second tournament of the season as they won both divisions at the Toronto Open.
The women were led by Farrantina Gatta (48kg), Kristina McLaren (55kg), Indira Moores (67kg) and Shauna Kuebeck (72kg) who all captured gold. Mackenzie Smallwood (48kg) and Zoe Forsyth (82kg) both took home silver while Kelsey Hall (59kg) placed fourth. Club wrestler Larissa Buffalino (55kg) placed second and Jasmine Jasudavicius (59kg) was third overall.
For the Brock men, Sam Jagas (57kg), Charlie Bowling (68kg), Cruiz Manning (72kg) and Clayton Pye (90kg) all placed first in their respective weight class. Joey Martin (61kg) and Rick Scaringi Deschatelets (90kg) both took home silver while Mat Kowald (76kg) was fifth. Club wrestl

Western finishes second, third at Greater Toronto Open
AJAX, Ont. – Both the men's and women's team came away from the Greater Toronto Open with podium finishes, with another eight Western wrestlers recording top three finishes individually.
The men's team placed second overall with 28 points, trailing only Brock. A number of standout performances helped the Mustangs secure the finish, with Josh Procter – a London-Western wrestler – taking the 76 kg title. Caleb Rutner (72kg) and Kyle Bonk-Dann (100 kg) both came in second, while Brayden Ambo (72 kg) and Bennet Jaworski (82 kg) each placed third.
Also competing was rookie Chris Nicolaou (57 kg) who finished fourth, Greg Clark (61 kg) who finished sixth, and Lauchlin MacDonald.
The women's team saw standout performances from Michalia Walls (67 kg) and Olivia Cirillo (82 kg) who both finished in third, while London-Western wrestler and former Mustang Madi Parks took the 51 kg title.
