Voice of the OUA Tim Micallef to call OUA Wilson Cup action live on Sportsnet ONE
The No. 7 nationally Windsor Lancers will aim to give top-ranked Carleton a scare in the first semifinal on Friday at 6 p.m. The No. 5 McMaster Marauders and No. 2 Ottawa Gee-Gees tipoff at 8 p.m in semifinal number two. The winners of the two OUA semifinals earn a berth to CIS Final 8 tournament and will meet in the OUA championship final at 6 p.m. on Saturday. The bronze medal game precedes it at 4 p.m.
All four games will be broadcast live on Sportsnet ONE. Those watching on television will be treated to a familiar face as ‘voice of the OUA’ Tim Micallef will be calling all the action. Joining him on the air is Paul Jones. No stranger to hoops, Jones is the Toronto Raptors play by play announcer on Sportsnet 590 The FAN and a graduate of OUA basketball. Donnovan Bennett will be reporting live from the sidelines.
DJ M-Rock will be spinning live from the Mattamy Athletic Centre Court on both Friday and Saturday. Winner of the 2013 Red Bull 3 Style Toronto competition, the Toronto native has filled the dancefloor for clients such as Drake, Ryan Gosling and Shaquille O’Neal. In addition to some of his award winning sets, fans can expect to hear some brand new remixes.
Tickets for the 2014 Wilson Cup Final Four Championship are still available for individual days at a price of $15 for adults and $10 for youth, students and seniors. A tournament pass can be purchased for adults at a price of $25 or $20 for youth, students and seniors. Premium courtside seating is available at $50 for a tournament pass or $35 for single day seating. Tickets can be purchased online at ticketmaster.ca or by phone at 1-855-985-5000.
