60 Word Blitz - A pre-game look at Week 7's games
Ottawa Gee-Gees v. Toronto Varsity Blues
Varsity Stadium
October 4 @ 7:00pm
Saturday's Panda Game was an emotional one for the Gee-Gees, but now it's on to Toronto, who will be chomping at the bit after a tough game of their own. Dawson Odei will continue to carry the backfield load for Ottawa, while Toronto will hope for a dominant effort on D from Malcolm Campbell, who leads the OUA in sacks.
Windsor Lancers v. Western Mustangs
TD Stadium
October 4 @ 7:00pm
Western will strive to keep their unbeaten streak alive in what should be a tough QB battle with Sam Girard and Windsor. Chris Merchant has amassed 292.8 YPG (4th) and a completion % of 74.2 (1st). Windsor, meanwhile, will be in the very capable hands of Girard, who is also a top-five passer in several key stats this year.
Queen's Gaels v. McMaster Marauders
Ron Joyce Stadium
October 5 @ 11:00am
After a bye, McMaster charges back on the field to take on the Gaels. The Marauders will rely on senior RB Jordan Lyons to advance the ball as he's done all season, but standing in their way of victory is a hungry Queen's squad, who will turn to defensive standouts Kealey, Bannatyne, and Lawson to keep the Marauders at bay.
Laurier Golden Hawks v. Carleton Ravens
MNP Park
October 5 @ 1:00pm
Tough losses for the Golden Hawks and Ravens last week suggest both should come out firing on Friday. Laurier's Levondre Gordon will need to keep up his explosive season if they want to top the Ravens, who will counter with fellow rusher Nathan Carter in what should be a battle between two of the OUA's best on the ground.
