The Guelph Gryphons will travel to Hamilton to take on the McMaster Marauders in the 107th Yates Cup presented by Pioneer on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m.
Hosting the Ottawa Gee-Gees in the semi-final play, McMaster saw an early 18-point lead vanish, and were tied 28-28 with just over seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. After taking a 35-31 lead, McMaster tacked on a touchdown in the final minutes of the game to clinch a third trip to the Yates Cup in the past four seasons.
The Guelph Gryphons also punched their ticket to the Yates Cup, putting together a convincing 51-26 victory over the Western Mustangs. With several key Mustangs starters either out or battling injury, Guelph took advantage of the situation and beat Western for a second time this year.
McMaster and Guelph met in the 2012 Yates Cup, a game McMaster won 30-13 en route to a second-consecutive appearance in the Vanier Cup.
When the teams met in the first game of the 2014 regular season, played at Ron Joyce Stadium in Hamilton, McMaster came away with an exciting 34-27 overtime win.
Ticket information for the 107th Yates Cup will become available early this week, and the game will also be broadcast live on OUA.tv.
